Philip Shaibu, the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, has assured that the programs and appointments made by Governor Monday Okpebholo will positively impact the people of Edo State.
Shaibu made this statement during a thanksgiving service held in celebration of his 55th birthday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Benin, the state capital, on Sunday.
A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress, Shaibu praised the governor for quickly getting to work and prayed for the necessary resources to fulfill the promises of democracy for the people.
He said, “Governor Monday Okpebholo’s programs and appointments will undoubtedly benefit the people of Edo State. My prayer is that he receives the required funds to bring the dividends of democracy to the people.”
“So far, the governor has performed admirably. I am particularly pleased with the flag-off of the flyover project and happy that from his very first day in office, he didn’t leave governance uncertain. He made key appointments right away, and I believe he has gotten off to a strong start.
However, as I’ve always said, the people of Edo State should pray to God to grant him the wisdom needed for effective leadership.
“For him to succeed, we must offer both physical and spiritual support. Leaders need continuous prayers to avoid errors. We should pray for Senator Monday Okpebholo so that he can fulfill all the promises he has made.”
While expressing gratitude for his life, Shaibu also urged young people to have faith in the country and not allow anyone to infringe upon their rights.
The event was graced by numerous prominent politicians, including Bayelsa State Deputy Governor Senator Lawrence Ewhurdjakpo, Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo, and former Edo State Deputy Governor Dr. Pius Odubu, among others.
