The Federal Government of Nigeria is partnering with the United States of America (USA), to send its first citizen into space
This was disclosed by the Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency, NASRDA, Dr. Mathew Adepoju, in F.C.T on Wednesday.
He said the federal government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with NASRDA and the Space Exploration and Research Agency of the United States.
He further said that the collaboration marks an important milestone in Nigeria’s 25th anniversary of Space Exploration journey and opens new opportunities for scientific research and technological advancement.
Honourable FM reports that Nigeria has been actively pursuing space exploration since 1999.
NASRDA was founded by the former Nigeria President Olusegun Obasanjo, since then, the federal government-owned agency has launched four satellites of its own, the first one in 2003 and the last one in 2009.
