Mudashiru Obasa, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has been removed from office by the Assembly members.
A credible source, who preferred to remain anonymous, revealed that Hon. Lasbat Meranda, the Deputy Speaker, has been chosen as his successor. Additionally, Hon. Fatai Mojeed, the Deputy Chief Whip, has been appointed as the new Deputy Speaker.
Reports indicate that Obasa has been involved in a number of controversial financial matters.
A brief statement from our source stated, “Obasa has been impeached, and Deputy Speaker Mojisola Meranda has been elected as the new Speaker. Mojeed Fatai has been appointed as the Deputy Speaker.”
