Interim Order not in any way nullify Appointment of Oba Muritala Oyelakin as the Aree of Iree – Osun government

Osun State government has said the interim Order obtained via Exparte Application, has not in any way nullified the Appointment of Oba Muritala Oyelakin as the Aree of Iree

It could be recalled Justice Micheal Justice Awe of the State High Court sitting in Ikirun, Osun State restrained Governor Ademola Adeleke, his government and four traditional chiefs including the king, Oba Oyelakin from going ahead with the ceremony of presentation of Staff of office.

The State Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi in a statement issued on Saturday insisted that Oba Muritala Oyelakin has been properly installed since 6th March 2024, and he remains the duly appointed and installed Aree of Iree

“We want to state unequivocally that the status quo remains as the presentation of staff and instrument of appointment that would have been held today, 4th May 2024, is merely ceremonial and does not in any way invalidate the earlier approval granted Oba Oyelakin as the substantive Aree of Iree as approved by Governor Ademola Adeleke led Osun State Executive Council.

Alimi urged the monarch and the people of Iree to remain calm and law-abiding despite yesterday’s court order which came up when all the arrangements for the coronation ceremony which is to come up today Saturday, 4th Ma, 2024, had virtually been completed.

He said Postpones presentation of Staff of Office/Instrument of Appointment ceremony of Aree of Iree is due to respect of the state government to the rule of law.

“The order having been therefore granted, Osun State Government under the leadership of H. E, Senator Ademola Adeleke has accordingly directed the Osun State Ministry of Justice to do the needful to ensure that the interim order is discharged forthwith.

The Statement added “We want to use this opportunity to inform the good people of Osun State that, Osun State Government under the Leadership of His Excellency Senator Dr Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke will continue to uphold the Rule of law by obeying court Orders whether in favour or against the G
