Dr. Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, has expressed that President Bola Tinubu’s reforms and strong economic policies are producing notable positive outcomes.

The statement, issued on Thursday in Abuja by Mr. Henshaw Ogubike, the Director of Information and Public Relations at the Ministry of Defence, highlighted Matawalle’s remarks.

He stated that the policies, including new tax reforms and significant achievements across multiple sectors, are playing a crucial role in revitalizing the nation’s economy.

Matawalle further emphasized that this economic recovery would ultimately bring long-term benefits to all Nigerians.

He urged critics of Tinubu’s administration, especially those from certain parts of Northern Nigeria, to adopt a more positive approach in their discussions.

“In response to the ongoing criticism, especially from some areas in Northern Nigeria, I encourage critics to focus on constructive narratives,” he said.

He also called on the public to remain committed in their support for the President and to reject divisive rhetoric.

“It is essential for Nigerians to stand together in support of the President, who is working tirelessly to rejuvenate our economy through a range of impactful policies, programs, and reforms,” he stated.

The minister emphasized the significance of the new tax reforms, calling them key to the country’s economic recovery.

He clarified that the purpose of these reforms is to establish a fairer tax system, which would improve government revenue while reducing the financial strain on everyday citizens and small businesses.

“By expanding the tax base and ensuring fair contributions from all, President Tinubu is setting the foundation for long-term economic growth,” Matawalle stated.

He further explained that these reforms would not only boost government revenue but also promote investment and job creation across multiple sectors.

Matawalle added that the tax reforms are designed to streamline the tax administration process, making it simpler for individuals and businesses to comply.

This, he said, will create a more business-friendly environment, fostering entrepreneurship and innovation, both of which are crucial for driving economic advancement.

Matawalle also pointed out other significant achievements across different sectors, including advancements in national security.

He stressed that the current administration has made major progress in strengthening the Nigerian military by equipping it with modern hardware and resources.

He further mentioned that military personnel have consistently received their salaries and allowances on time, which has greatly improved their morale.

“Under President Tinubu’s leadership, we are seeing a renewed dedication to the safety and welfare of all Nigerians, and I urge everyone to acknowledge the positive changes occurring,” the minister stated.
