More than 460 undocumented immigrants, some with criminal backgrounds involving sexual assault, domestic violence, drug offenses, and weapons charges, have been apprehended in the United States.
Fox News reports that the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) carried out the arrests during the early days of President Donald Trump’s administration.
The report indicates that between midnight on January 21 and 9 a.m. on January 22, a span of 33 hours, ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) detained more than 460 aliens.
The individuals arrested include those with criminal records involving sexual assault, robbery, burglary, aggravated assault, drug and weapons offenses, resisting arrest, and domestic violence.
The arrests targeted nationals from several countries, such as Afghanistan, Angola, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Senegal, and Venezuela.
These arrests occurred across various U.S. states, including Illinois, Utah, California, Minnesota, New York, Florida, and Maryland.
