Shehu Sani, stated on Thursday, that the price War between Dangote Refinery and the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited, NNPCL, is a “skit.”
Sani was responding to the decision of the Federal Government not to interfere in the price war among NNPCL and Dangote Refinery.
On Wednesday, the Federal Government said he would not interfere in the petrol pump disagreement among the NNPCL and Dangote Refinery.
Stating the position of the Federal Government, President Bola Tinubu’s spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, said both parties were at liberty to decide their own market prices for buyers.
Onanuga said all petroleum stakeholders are permitted to utilize and set their prices according to economic market forces because it has been deregulated
“It is the consumers who benefit if a price war ensues. If NNPC’s price is too high, the independent market can import fuel and sell at prices they find profitable. The government will not intervene in the matter.
“Dangote operates as a private entity, and NNPC, as a limited liability company, is entitled to set its own prices,” he said
